Play and learn.

A Roman Centurion and a Celtic Warrior stand tall at the entrance to the redeveloped play park. It has a Roman theme because the Antonine Wall, built by Romans AD142, (World Heritage site), runs through the Park. There are several well developed and eye catching educational boards and figures in the fenced off area - the play park looked great and was proving very popular. The redevelopment is part of the “Rediscovering the Antonine Wall Project.” The intention is to provide play, educational and learning opportunities for locals and visitors. A variety of Scottish Government bodies, Local Authority Partnerships, and the EU Rural Development Fund have contributed to this initiative. There’s also an interactive exhibition of Roman finds and more in the nearby museum, we must visit some day soon when we’re oot n aboot.
