Whitby Abbey

Me, Mrs K and Millie spent 6 hours on the road getting from north Bristol to just outside Whitby, North Yorkshire for the first day of our holiday. Mainly down to the adverse weather and a series of minor incidents on the motorways.

There was some consolation in that we stopped just outside Chesterfield at a pub that I'd found on the internet and the lunch was excellent, plus there was a good walk for the whipper-snapper. Having unpacked the car into our very spacious accommodation, including a full-size snooker table in the lounge(!!), we popped into Whitby and caught the Abbey with some really interesting light. Then had fish 'n chips, delicious.

Tired now but a great day all considered.
