Watercress Line
Murphy had an early hair appointment at the groomers this morning. As Hinton Ampner, the local National Trust property wasn’t open we drove with Willis to Alresford and we went to the Watercress Line to see the steam trains.
As it was early the staff were getting ready for the busy day ahead. We chatted to them about the requirements of being a volunteer. Something else I could do when I retire.
In the extra you can see 92212 emerging from the steam. She’s nearly as old me.
Having collected a very smart Murphy we had lunch and then HtP cut my grass while I had a snooze. Three days of early starts to go to London are exhausting.
And it’s called the Watercress Line as the trains used to take the watercress to London.
