The Pentalina

A snap of the Pentalina arriving in Orkney, taken from the fields above the pier.

It's a catamaran and was newly built when it started on this route in 2009. It does the return trip between St Margaret's Hope, South Ronaldsay and Gills Bay, Caithness 3 times a day, 7 days a week.

It is soon to be replaced with a much larger version. So I thought it would be interesting to record the size of our present boat, to compare with the new one, when it arrives.
