Native Californian

I've spent this day at the campus . . . in the classroom and in the Writing Center. Then I spent some office moments -- filing paperwork and preparing for Thursday's classes. Just before exiting I spent a moment appreciating this poster on my office wall . . . bought it several years ago at the Steinbeck Center in Salinas, California.

Steinbeck won a Pulitzer Prize Fiction Award for Grapes of Wrath in 1940 and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962. He was a gifted writer.

Today I am thankful for the ability to read and a daily environment that encourages and nurtures reading.
