MonoMonday: "Middle"

For 60plus's MonoMonday theme of "Middle" I decided on a selfie. After all, I'm the middle one of my parents' 3 sons.

This is, of course, no ordinary selfie: it's the fingerprint from my right middle finger. I experimented for a while with the technique to photograph it, and eventually decided on spreading a thin layer of Vaseline on my finger and making the print on a sheet of glass then taking the photo by reflected light at a slight angle.

It's also World Photography Day: I suspect that a significant proportion of the photographs taken each and every day (including today) are selfies - so I've joined the masses in doing just that!

Now of course I need to get the Vaseline off the glass...!
