Day 231/19. Downton Abbey? Or Highclere Castle?

Today a bit of a pilgrimage with friends of ours, one a big Downwon Abbey fan. Highclere Castle is about 30 minutes north of where we live.
Highclere Castle is a country house in the Jacobethan style by the architect Charles Barry, with a park designed by Capability Brown. The 5,000-acre estate is in north Hampshire, England, about 5 miles south of Newbury, Berkshire. It is the country seat of the Earl of Carnarvon,
Highclere Castle, however, is probably most famous as it is used for exterior shots of the TV series 'Downton Abbey' and most of the interior filming. Much of the soon-to-be-released movie was also shot here. Strictly no photography allowed inside, sadly... (grrrr....)
