Come What May
Aunty May has had a nasty fall and broken her arm. I visited her with mum and dad and we got a bit of a shock when we saw her. She was asleep in her chair, slumped forward, her head on her chest, face black and blue and her arm swollen and purple. The care staff tried to wake her up but she just wasn’t with it. She has changed so much in the few weeks since we saw her last and it was very upsetting to see. We sat with her for about 45 minutes then, when we kissed her goodbye, she woke up. She obviously didn’t recognise us and thought we worked in the home. She told us to ‘go and do someone else’ while she came to.
Dad bought her a lovely bouquet which she seemed to like and did comment on. We realise that at 105, she’s had a wonderful innings but we were sad to leave her, wondering if we’ll see her again.
