Climb every mountain
An unusual site on Dumyat, our local hill, all week are Jewish families striding out.
Fascinated by what seemed like a pilgrimage - other friends had reported seeing them - I stopped and asked where they were from.
(I have to admit that it was difficult to get eye contact. They just wanted to slip past eyes averted. )
Anyway one young woman explained they were from Manchester, a gathering of Jewish families all camping at Stirling university.
On mountains normally devoid of humans, especially on a Monday afternoon, they created an unusual spectacle in the middle of this empty landscape.
But what a brilliant idea for so many families to holiday together.
I learnt later that Manchester has the biggest Jewish community outside London.
Thanks to Nickimags888 for hosting monomonday with the theme of “middle”.
