olive tree

Wow -our olive tree arrived yesterday via truck, then moved to the back yard with a bobcat and crane! On the left is Ann Hall, our garden designer and job supervisor extraordinaire. She is always laughing and so fun to work with! In the middle is my husband Steven and on the right, the man from the Plant Place who orchestrated delivery of this olive tree, which had just been brought in via a crane, because it was so heavy, and set down. It is taller than I imagined! But it has teeny tiny leaves and will look very graceful between the paver patio and the dock. We have yet to determine whether it really will bear olives or not!!

Tomorrow Grant ( our landscaper) & Ann will be back to plant this tree and the paver guys will also be back to finish the last little section . . . the additional pavers we needed were delivered today. There may be some preparation of garden beds next week but the actual planting will be the following week as we have a window install going on next week, phew! And I am hardly doing any work, just being here more and answering questions!! The carpenter is coming this weekend as we have to replace the worn out lanai stairs and finish the pergola and hot tub screen.... I do look forward to the job being complete so we can just enjoy it, but I am documenting as we go as I know soon we will forget what it was like right now . . . . isn't that the way?

I hope you all are well and photographing madly! Or, photographing judiciously, whatever your pleasure ; )

All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.
