Medieval Merchant.  A game we haven't played for many years but used to be a regular (probably from a time when we didn't have 250 other games to play...).

Has a bit of the feel of PowerGrid (which it predates by 8 years) but is primarily an area control game.  Still a good game, and was reasonably close.
