Chillies

These are the chillies that I have previously blipped growing in a fire bucket;  they were a present from my younger daughter and son in law.  I am a bit puzzled at the colour they are showing.  I had expected them to be initially green and then ripen through yellow to red but these appear to be turning a dark purple colour.  Have I done something wrong?
