T'eBay
Trips up and down the M6 are made all the more palatable when stopping at Tebay services in Cumbria, whether it is going up or down. They are unlike any other motorway services we have come across and we've been stopping here for many years, no fast food diners or the usual tacky newsagents and gaming areas, but a decent restaurant and a shop selling local produce, a duck pond and short walks.
What I didn't know until now was that they were formed in 1972 when the M6 cut through a farm and the family took the disruption as an opportunity to sell their own produce and it seems to have worked... what an ingenious idea!
This was our view south as we ate our dinner.
