the flags are flying

My nephew and niece came visiting today after their holiday so it was lovely to spend some time with them in Southend.  Their mum was on a  mission today too to get them all prepared for school so we've been buying school shoes, sports stuff, trousers and, most importantly, pencil cases and stationery!  There's so much to choose from nowadays!! I think I'm glad there  only seemed to be a few options when I was at school!

Southend high street always looks nicer if you look up! The shops at eye level always seem so bland and generic, but above the shop signs is some lovely architecture which I wish they'd make more of!
