Little Mt Peel

Some magnificent views today from atop Little Mt Peel (1300 metres). We could see the Rangitata River wending its way to the sea across the Canterbury Plains. This is the Tristram Harper Memorial Shelter, where we had lunch after a steep and sometimes muddy climb to the summit. We used the Deer Spurr Track on the ridge to the left, to access the hut.
