Late last year I started having various treatments for depression. It's a worryingly common condition that seems to be on the increase and the scientific part of my brain wonders why this is so - are we getting worse at dealing with stuff, or is it a reflection of the times we live in?
There are good days when it's mostly beaten into submission or I can hide it behind a mask of bounciness and then there are other days. Like today.
It always amazes me how much photography can help on days like this. It's partly because the act of expressing how I feel in an image takes away some of that feeling (she says, sounding ever so slightly pretentious...) and partly because when I take a photo at work, there's part of me that thinks "you look a right tit - how will you explain *that* if someone comes in?"
