A Green Wonder

There are two types of Buddhist spires in Thailand.
- A prang is a rounded spire that belongs to the Khmer civilization,
- A chedi , known outside as a 'stupa' originally comes from the ancient Ceylonese Buddhism. In Thailand, these are often white or gold in color.
But since Thailand is at the crossroad of both former Buddhist cultures, the two forms exist in the country.
Wat Ratchaburana, near the Chao Phraya River, is an example of a Buddhist Temple in Bangkok that displays both.
But this prang stands out, due to the fact that it has a coat of green ceramics, which is quite unique.
