Rothesay fountain

Not often have I seen it so high! A very long time ago, shortly after the fountain was put in place some friends asked my Mum for a box of soap powder. She provided but had no knowledge of why they needed it! They had tried pink dye but it was not very noticeable so they were to try soap powder! We walked along the next morning and the bubbles were amazing. I was told never to tell the names and I never have. People blamed the youths but it actually was well respected men who just thought the fountain was a monstrosity! They are all long gone those hooligans!
