Looking every inch the biggest scariest Hornet you have ever seen is a great defense for this Hornet-mimic hoverfly Volucella zonaria. They have attitude too, and will chase you buzzing loudly like a very angry hornet!!
In my extras another amazing cemetery find - another Wasp spider - they are certainly having a good year.
