Brand new baby ....

Another day of chaos !
Baled 100 bales of silage before lunch and left wee brother to cart and wrap them.
I headed off down to bandit country and baled another 100 wheat bales that they cut last night. The stuff they were cutting today wasn’t fit to bale , then it came on rain so it definitely wasn’t fit to bale.
Headed home to help wee brother bring in a Hereford heifer needing calved. There were a pair of back feet but couldn’t get them forward enough to get calving ropes on , so phoned the vet.
By the time he got here and had a guddle , there was a head and front legs too. Presumed it might be twins both trying to exit at the same time. However after a bit more guddling inside he managed to get ropes on the head and front legs and we managed to jack it out. Turns out it was only 1 big heifer calf which must have been folded up like a C. Any way , it’s alive and we didn’t need to do a caesarean . Always a bonus.
Still raining tonight so went down for a load of wheat bales. The rest will need to take their chances until tomorrow. Hopefully it will be too wet for the wee neds to burn them !
