Basking shark

Crap pic but the wee dark triangle is a basking shark’s fin.

In Orkney if you see more than a couple of people standing staring out to sea there’s a good chance if you pull over you’ll see something interesting. I knew there had been a basking shark and a whale seen at this spot yesterday so when I saw a few cars in the lay-by I stopped to see what was going on.

We watched the shark moving back and forth along the shore feeding. Wish I’d had my binoculars in the car but even without them it was a great sight.
