The brightest eye

It was Raki's official first birthday yesterday. We don't know when she was actually born (on the Greek island of Lesbos) but when taken for her first visit to a vet there, along with her 6 siblings, she was already about 3 months old and that was the estimated date of her nativity provided for her EU passport, prior to her journey to the UK.

I took the photo alongside some eyebright flowers that are so very tiny  that I cobbled in a slightly enlarged version. The plant has traditionally been associated with eyes and is still used in herbal medicine today for treating ocular complaints  - in dogs as well as in humans.
