The Forton Monument

Lancashire's most beautiful 1965 monument to motoring and the pioneering spirit of early motorway construction, The Forton Monument. The structure evokes the potential and romanticism of 1960's air travel providing, in its time, M6 motorists an exquisite dining experience with superb elevated views of the motorway and surrounding landscape.

The structure now sadly lays empty, but is thankfully listed so will hopefully remain a postpeakcartastic landmark to travellers north and south for many years to come.
