When Harry met Sally....

Not quite....more like when Xena met Violet, Vernon, Hazel and Elsa. Today I took Xena on a play date at her sibling's house, as they live quite near to us. Her sibling, Violet, has an older half brother called Vernon from the mum's first litter. However, the breeder who owns the mum Elsa, is away on holiday and when she unexpectedly took on the puppy that the other family no longer wanted, they almost had to cancel their holiday as no one will look after a 10 week old puppy - however the family who own Violet and Vernon stepped in and offered to look after both Elsa and Hazel the new puppy - which is why Xena saw two of her siblings today, her mum and her half brother. Gosh have you kept up so far?!

When we arrived, all the other dogs were in the next room but they soon came through to meet Xena. As she has not been in in the company of dogs since she left her mum at 8 weeks old, she was absolutely terrified and shrieked and cried in her loudest voice as all the dogs came up to her at once. Poor thing was terrified, shaking like a leaf,  but I resisted picking her up as I knew that withing minutes they would sort it out amongst themselves - and they did. She had the best morning playing with all of them and later got so confident she even tried to grab the rope toy of of her big brother's mouth (see extra) which none of the other pups dared to do.

In this photo we have Elsa the mum and the three little girls, Xena is standing at the back nearest to her mum. In the second extra you can see Xena in the front wearing her red collar. Hard to tell the pups apart other than by their collars! It was impossible to get a photo of all five of them.

She was exhausted when we left there and slept soundly all the way home and right through lunch. She had so much fun we may repeat this before Elsa and Hazel go home next week.

Other than that a quiet day at home - Luke and Meriel went to London today and Thomas just relaxed at home.
