No Small Children.....

It was Jen and Pete's Wedding Anniversary today (4 years) and ours too (39 years).  We decided to do our usual and have lunch at Betty's Cafe at RHS Harlow Carr Gardens, and very nice it was too.  Afterwards we braved the mizzle and took a walk in the gardens.  With it being the school holidays there were lots of children following the Very Hungry Caterpillar Trail and then we stumbled across the Bird of Prey flying on the Main Lawn.  The falconer was very entertaining and his final audience participation was to invite a youngster to don his 'safety helmet' and run up the lawn to be chased by the Harris Hawk which landed on her head.  There was much showmanship about health and safety and the chances of the child being carried off etc., but I think the parents were still relieved that no small child was harmed in this demonstration!
