Harpsichords and harps
Up very early again to try and finish everything before the removal men arrived....quite a rush to be organised and done but we made it! They were very friendly guys and after we'd toured them round and explained what to take and what to leave we went for a restorative coffee and pastry at the Wee Boulangerie before I caught the first half of a gorgeous concert with 4 harpsichords. Given the hopeless view (Queen's Hall has so few good vantage points I find) I just closed my eyes and lapped it up. Just what I needed....before into the office and then off to two long meetings. Neither very satisfactory for different reasons, although not difficult ones.
Afterwards met up with S and we opted for a burger and chips before going to the Usher Hall for a staged opera which had all the Puccini hallmarks and a belter of a soprano. We sat close to the harpist and she had to work hard - spending a long time before and during the interval tuning.
Home...the place is bare! All that's left now is to move my stuff for the next 6 weeks or so over to the new place....hauling loads down 2 flights, across town and up 3 flights then unpacking. Simples!
