Wolvesey Castle

Until relatively recently (1600s) this was the palace for the Bishops of Winchester - one of the most powerful and wealthy positions in the country. A new palace was then built next door which is still in use, although with a few modifications no doubt.

We paused here on our way to Dorset where we will be for a few days. I had originally built the trip around photographing field mice and birds but I'd muddled up dates and so now the mice shoot will be October. Good to be in this beautiful part of the countryside though.
