The stash
Besides cupboards and drawers full of lengths of fabric, I also have to confess to large-ish collections of hexagons (joined and unjoined) left over from earlier projects. Today , after finishing off a wee sleeveless jerkin for a toddler in pinkish possum/mohair yarn , I put a container of these hexagons on the work table and thought I'd best employ the KISS principle and just keep it simple, so laid these out in an acceptably pleasing fashion , took an image as an aide-de-memoir and began stitching them together.
This arrangement leaves one with a severely uneven edge which I'll fill in with "part-circles" as needed when the main body of the quilt is connected.
Off to Lake Tarawera tomorrow...fingers crossed for a bit more sunshine .
