Euphoria Crete day 8

We hired a car this morning for 3 days. I'm a very nervous passenger at the best of times but that was multiplied by about 1000 with driving on the wrong side of the road in a country where, let's just say, driving rules are different to ours!!Crete is also a very mountainous country and I hate mountain roads. We are therefore quite restricted to where we can go but we decided to head to Lake Kournas as it had good reviews and the roads didn't seem to be that bad.
It was quite a hair raising journey but we eventually made it and were quite disappointed to see lots of clouds around the surrounding mountains and it had been really commercialised. We hired a pedalo and managed to spot a terrapin and a koi carp as well as lots of different varieties of dragonflies and damsel flies. We headed back to the hotel afterwards and I spent the afternoon sunbathing, reading and swimming again.
