At the Sales
I went to Cambridge today with my daughter and granddaughter. Let us go early my daughter said, so just before eight this morning I arrived at her house. The plan was to go early, get what we wanted, have lunch and come home in the early afternoon; alas the best laid plans of mice and men...
The day started well when Victoria bought a beautiful black and pink dress to wear at a disco and I bought a new Yoga top. Victoria had recently dropped her mobile phone and the screen was broken so we left it to be repaired over in the Grafton Centre while we continued shopping and had lunch in John Lewis. Then all as planned, we went back to collect the telephone before we came home.
Then my daughter decided she wanted to look at some more shops so we went back over to the main town again. While she was trying on garments Victoria looked at her phone; it did not work! Back we went again to the phone shop and they said it was probably a faulty screen and they would try another one. Come back later! When we did go back again they had not repaired it, no other screen for this telephone in stock. It has to be left there until Monday, but they will deliver it to her daddy's office on Monday so at least we do not have to go back again and they gave her half her money back.
This picture shows Victoria trying on sandals, which were much too high, as were several other pairs she tried on. In the end she has decided she will wear her mother's sandals to the disco.
Her feet sum up my day! If you know how far it is from the Grafton Centre to the City Centre and back again, three times, plus walking around the shops you will have some idea of how far we walked; in excess of six miles I think.
