I’m lichen it!

After Stobo I popped along to Dawyk Botanical Gardens for a guided walk/talk with Lichenologist Becky Yahr.

What a fantastically interesting couple of hours with our hand lenses. Fascinating.

Then it was home for an early supper before heading over to Quercus to help out at their charity garden opening in the evening. It was a beautiful evening but sadly it was quite quiet.

In other news I found a big fat hedgehog in the back garden, I’d heard a rustling and thought somehow the chickens had been shut out. When I got my torch and went to investigate there it was! A lovely surprise, we’ve had one in the front garden before but not quite sure how this one got in the back.
