The stuff of legend

The church at Stobo dates back to 1120, but there were previous buildings from the late 500’s. St Mungo founded the first while he was Archbishop of Strathclyde. He baptised Merlin on a stone - half of which is here in the north transept, while the other half is up on the Dreva road.
