Turn The Page
Evening all.
Had a great 'discovery' today when i had a bit of a ramble around Buxton.
I'd lost interest in the soulless commercial nonsense that was on offer in the more usual retail outlets and so, in the insistent persistent drizzle i just walked, up and out through Buxton, going nowhere, searching for nothing.
And, as the laws of serendipity dictates, that was precisely when i stumbled upon a little box of literary treasures.
A bookshop: five floors of wonderment, eclectic, eccentric, with a 'cave' and a Victorian museum in the basement, a floor with a "have a go if you think you're competent enough" harmonium in the music section, a lovely children's literature section with chairs and comfy seats everywhere, and a gratis coffee and cake station.
I could go on about it, thousands of books of all types and creed nestling togetherin a perfect harmony.
Four hours later i emerged, having had a lovely couple of coffees and being untroubled by staff.
Poorer financially certainly, but richer in spirit than i could've ever hoped for.
night all
