What a scorcher!
I knew it was going to be a hot day today so this morning we decided to take Xena to the heath for a walk before it got too hot. It is also when most people are out walking their dogs and I want her to meet as many dogs as possible so she can get over feeling nervous about other dogs. Today she was already much better, not being so anxious with other dogs - despite meeting some very large dogs today. The heather is still looking good but already going over, it has been so dry that it seems to be fading quickly.
We had a lovely lunch outside today as it was so hot. We made some roast chickens in the BBQ oven and I made some salads, which went down well.
After lunch as it was so hot we decided to take Xena to the river for a swim - she will love it, we said....she has been in water before, we said.... well look at the extra, she was more interested in seeing all the people at the river and the other dogs and not that keen on swimming. It really was a scorcher today, it was still 31C at 5pm.
Adam arrives home tomorrow morning after his month long holiday in Central America and Miami - we are looking forward to seeing him again. He arrives just in time to celebrate his birthday which is on Tuesday.
