Above And Beyond...

Black & White

The temperature for this Bank Holiday Sunday was about 30C so we decided on a trek, and the choice of location was Llanthony Priory, Black Mountains, on the outskirts of Abergavenny in The Brecon Beacons National Park.

The first mile was a solid ascent up to Hatterrall Ridge, far worse than the 'Fan Dance' (Pen Y Fan) which had us sweating and panting in the heat but the views at The Offa's Dyke path that separates England and Wales were amazing despite the haze. As we walked the ancient ridge, towards Capel Y Ffin, the purple heather was  gorgeous  and we came upon two Ram. I say tounge in cheek it makes a great black and white photograph!

A good nine miles, and nearly four hours later, we were back at the car for a brew up (x2) with our camping stove.
