The Victoria Cottage Hospital, Bute.

I was born here, and brought up on the island, which makes me a Brandane.  While we were there someone tried to tell me you had to have a parent born here too. But I still qualify as my mother and grandmother were born and brought up here. 
We spent a lot of time in the hospital as my Godmother had fallen and broken her hip. She is 95. It was very dreary I thought, no pictures and in a huge room on her own. her cards were behind so she couldn't see them. There was a small TV, not ideal for an elderly lady. However she was pleased to get our daily visits and we chatted about old times. She did say the meals were good and the nurses said she had a great appetite. She is not an advert for healthy eating as she never eats any veg or eggs.
