Fading light in the woods

Middleton Woods, Ilkley. Took the dog for a walk at about 3.30. The light is fading in the woods, but there is enough light to make the pale bark seem strangely luminous - I don't know why this should be. It's almost as if the bark is glowing.

I never get tired of taking photos in the woods. There's often nothing obvious to point the camera at, but it seems to be all about mood and atmosphere, and dare I say the feelings you get; Certainly about shapes.

The woods respond to the light in many ways and this, combined with the changing seasons makes them infinitely changeable.

The saying "wood for the trees' is apt. Maybe you have to see beyond the trees to see the wood.
