Cheeky ...

I had to laugh. I was hanging out some washing quite early this morning, when I realised that the bird table was full of ... cat. This particular cat belongs to someone in a neighbouring street; it's very bold and very vocal and this morning it was not going to move. I don't know quite how it fitted its not inconsiderable body into that small space - it might have been quite a sight - but it removed itself quickly enough after I'd finished reasoning with it ...

Another lovely day had us abandoning the packing and heading to Benmore Gardens for a shortish walk. We're so packed we could have gone off on holiday a couple of days ago, but that's neurosis for you. I've added an extra  photo of the Andean refuge at the top of the hill, based on the design of traditional churches in Chile. The juxtaposition of purple heather and monkey puzzle trees is very typical of the gardens, and today the scents and colours were amazing.

And we saw a woodpecker before we left ...
