Penguins!
I had a few hours to myself while the girls were at the childminder's today. I managed to clear out a load of toys that haven't been played with for ages and replaced them with all of the new toys from Rebecca's birthday and from Christmas. And we've still got Elizabeth's birthday to come!
If we sold off all the stuff in our garage, we'd be millionaires! It's so full.
This evening Elizabeth said she wanted to sleep in "daddy and mummy's bed" when asked why, she said so, so sweetly "because I love you daddy". Not even three and already manipulative!
Unfortunately she's also still having some very naughty moments. Tonight's included throwing a book at me, hitting me with the book, pulling my hair, slamming a door into Rebecca's face and deliberately making a mess after being told not to. She's becoming a teenager before her time!
I know it's all about frustration and boundaries etc. Just another developmental stage. We were lucky and skipped the terrible twos... and it's quite rare and infrequent and mostly it's rather amusing... but I have to try not to laugh. I usually just leave her to it. Unless she's actually hurting someone, like tonight.
Rebecca's still being a bit clingy. It's nice to have the cuddles, but it's annoying when I need to get the tea done and so on. And she is taking soooo long to go to sleep at night. She's up and down and climbing all over me. I hope these phases don't last long!
