The eighth of eight
A walk in the Auckland Domain again today at lunch time. Went down towards the bottom of Grafton gully to get a photo of the last one of the eight sculptures which make up the Auckland Domain Sculpture Walk.
This one is an unusual scupture in bronze by Chiara Corbelletto. She has named it Numbers are the Language of Nature. The artist is interested in geometry, and the patterns found in nature. She has taken the concept of tessellation (a pattern created by repeating a shape) into a three dimensional form consisting of twenty identical bronze modules, which she describes as a wind-swept triangle in a six fold symmetry.
