Steamroller, at the wrong shutter speed
This is the steamroller we passed as we went through the resurfacing roadworks at Appin as part of the 9pm convoy tonight.
We only just made it for 9pm, having been invited to a birthday dinner for seven at the Creagan Inn at Appin, for Mouse's partner Stevie. What a pain the roadworks are.
Also managed during the day:
went to Oban again and had lunch with the old folks at Bossard's, which used to be the Gallery restaurant, where I worked in the summer of 1980.
Went back to Tesco's and finally had the electronic tag removed from the swimming costume I bought on Monday!
Did not go shopping for coffins and funeral plans with our mother, although she does want us to go to the undertaker's with her.
Went back to the house on Loch Etive to photograph sone old books about rhododendrons. Found an old map of Cadiz harbour inside one of them.
Drove over Glen Salach to Barcaldine to visit an aunt and a cousin. There are many more McIntyre cousins in Barcaldine, but we didn't have time to see them all.
Drove to Benderloch to pick up the youngsters so we could go the Creagan for Stevie's birthday. Fortunately we didn't have to take them back to Benderloch, or otherwise we would have missed the 9pm roadworks amnesty at Appin and would have had to go for the 10 pm slot.
