First Tee.
A much brighter morning for our early Thursday walk but considerably cooler than the last few days.
The walk through the St Ives estate skirts the golf course and on our way back we pass the first green and club house. It’s usual for us to see a few early golfers here but today there was a line of people by the first Tee. They didn’t appear to have any golfing equipment ie clubs so I don’t know what it was about.
I chose this shot as I think the light on the green looks lovely. The clubhouse is to the right and you can just see St Ives Mansion in the centre though the trees. It belonged to the golf club when we got married and it’s where we had our wedding reception - nearly 45 years ago! A new club house was built and the house went into private ownership as a Young Disabled unit but it is currently vacant hopefully awaiting a new use.
A good view from here too in the distance beyond Cottingley Woods towards the nearby village of Wilsden.
