What to Do?

I am quite fond of this chair, the frame of which I bought in Battersea Market about a million years ago. Took it home on the train somehow. Then i refurbished the frame and went to upholstery classes to learn how to reupholster and cover it.  However "stuff happens" and about a year ago the frame was damaged and its v wonky. The upholstery is OK but neither I nor 2 other handyman/ builder/ etc colleagues know how to mend it, at least without taking off the upholstery. So probably talking about £500+ to get it sorted out. So what to do?
