An Old Airman's Life

Lunch with the boss

Today was our boss' 65th birthday. I joined the firm nearly 20 years ago. I left American Airlines to work for a family owned business. Then we had five employees. Two were so wealthy that wages was immaterial. A few years ago, the boss had a "medium" stroke. Now only three of us are trying to keep the business alive.

On his birthday, we took the boss to a Japanese restaurant that specializes in meat, Meat, MEAT. A good time was had. Sad because the boss can no longer normally walk or talk. For a couple hours, we pretend that nothing has changed. But everything has changed.

Our boss went all over the world to view birds. Today this bird waits for his arrival.
