Grey Heron
At the club meeting last night Ron showed us a couple of images of a kingfisher, shot from the hide at Stover last Monday. Apparently he had only been sitting there for 10minutes when a juvenile appeared. During the next 30 minutes it visited another 6 times.
There are no prizes for guessing where I was going this morning...
I had company in the hide. One lady had been there since 7am and had a fleeting glimpse of a kingfisher but nothing since. As it was now 10am I wondered how much longer she was going to wait.
She obviously had more patience than me and seemed in for the long haul when I left her at 11am.
Walking around the lake I came across this heron.
He didn't thrill me in the same way as Mr Blue and Orange would, but was still very obliging and strutted up and down the branch until a noisy group of pre schoolers came along. The shouts and screams soon put an end to his photo shoot.
