My favourite plants

These cardiocrinnum giganteum, giant Himalayan lilies, are my favourite plants though they can be high maintenance.
 
So far this year these two (there are several more dotted around the garden) have withstood the recent strong winds and escaped the deer that plundered the garden in early spring eating other lilies.
 
These spectacular plants can grow to 3.5 metres  (11.ft 6 inches) though ours stand just over two metres.
 
A native of the Himalayas, Burma and China
they are ideal for our shady dappled woodland garden.
