Splintered
Taken while walking around Angel Mounds, a historical site, near where we live. It's named so for the burial mounds in the area and that run along the river.
The husband and I went for a walk in the woods on the site. Several years ago a tornado tore through the area and decimated the trees. There are very few tall trees left, most look like this, but the land is making a slow comeback.
This particular trunk is one of my favorites, when the wind is strong enough the splintered wood acts as a natural wind chime.
