The long short day

Up at 6.30 and off to walk pete. We did a longer route this morning, and not much sign of it getting any lighter as we got home just before 7.30.

No travelling into town this morning, working at home to get some end of year reports finished.

Pete worn out from the longer walk settled down well and left me alone.

Stopped for some lunch, top sandwich trying to finish off all the Stilton!! Some ham and homemade chutney too...all on freshly baked baked from local bakers.

The afternoon more of the same and finished by 4.30pm, having started at 8, and pete also going stir crazy for a walk.

We set off on an even longer route. Just as darkness was arriving I took this picture on engine lane. Must've done over 2 miles.

Both of us whacked! Cooked a lovely tea using some mushroom and truffle paste, and the juice from some dried porcini mushrooms, made a top pasta sauce to have with spaghetti.

Made final touches to disco playlist for a party tomorrow night and off to bed. It's been a long short week!!
