Silver linings

35 degrees here today, another sweltering summer this year. Good news is that tomorrow night the current heatwave will finally break and temps will tumble back down to normal, which is the low 20s. It's been a struggle keeping the balcony plants going, but a few have been happy and one of those is the fig. It's small, but had 14 figs on it, including this one. Something has beaten me to 4 of them, my guess either the squirrels or a yet unseen raccoon (they have naturalized here after an escape from a zoo several decades ago in western Germany, have been spreading ever since)
