The coolest playground

The Margaret Mahy playground is a post-quake rebuild success in central Christchurch. Kids' ideas were used to plan the playground.

It was an early project on damaged land near the Avon River to provide a place where kids (small and big) could have fun amidst the trauma and uncertainty.

It's free and is an amazing area to wander around and enjoy. Unfortunately there was no leisurely wandering for me, I was a woman on a mission passing through.
